In the spirit of creating world-class AI for education, we’re excited to introduce a Khanmigo update that ensures a fair and accurate assessment of your learning progress on Khan Academy. Say hello to our new Khanmigo Testing Mode! Designed to empower educators, parents, and learners alike, this feature disables Khanmigo during assessments, allowing you to showcase your knowledge without any AI assistance. Let’s dive into how it works and the benefits it brings to your learning experience.
Testing Without Assistance
When you start a Quiz, Unit Test, Course or Mastery challenge, Khanmigo will be temporarily disabled and you will see a message explaining why Khanmigo is disabled. This is your chance to demonstrate what you know independently, without relying on AI support. Embrace the challenge, and trust in your abilities! Khanmigo will resume when you’ve completed the assessment or after a cooldown period of five minutes.
Regaining Access to Khanmigo
Khanmigo will resume through one of these steps:
- Finish your assessment: Once you’ve completed the assessment, Khanmigo will resume and you can chat as usual.
- Need to start over? If you wish to stop and consult Khanmigo, you’ll have to retake the assessment using the “Start Over” button, understanding that your previous progress will be lost.
- Don’t want to finish now? If you prefer to leave the assessment, simply close the assessment window/tab and wait for 5 minutes. Khanmigo will be ready to provide guidance and support again once the cooldown time has elapsed.
