
Welcome to the 4th Annual U.S. National Khanathalon! Get ready to compete with dedicated students and teachers from districts across the United States to level up skills and earn mastery crowns.
The Challenges
The school with the highest percentage of students with 2+ skills leveled up to “Proficient” or “Mastered” per week will take home the crown. To qualify, schools must have a minimum of 25 active students per course and work on at least 2 skills per week. This year’s challenges are:
- Math Maestros – Grade-level mathematics
- SAT Stars: Math – SAT Math
- SAT Stars: Reading and Writing – SAT Reading and Writing
- SAT Sprinters: Math – Get Ready for SAT Math
- SAT Scholars: Reading & Writing – Get Ready for SAT Reading and Writing
- AI Explorers – District-level competition for the highest percentage of students using Khanmigo each week! (Ties broken by teacher usage.)
We will have an additional category this year – AI Explorers. In this category, the DISTRICTS will compete for the highest percentage of students actively using Khanmigo for the week. Ties will be broken by the highest percentage of teachers using Khanmigo for the week.

- District Champion Recognition – Spotlighted across Khan Academy’s communications as a model of excellence in learning engagement.
- Feature in Sal’s quarterly newsletter and a blog post highlighting your district’s success.
- And, of course, the grand prize — a virtual visit with Sal Khan!
