A deep and ongoing commitment to Texas

We’re not new to Texas. We partner with some of the largest and most diverse school systems in Texas, including Houston ISD. During the pandemic, we featured Dr. Jharrett Bryantt, then Assistant Superintendent of HISD, in our national Ed Talks series to share how Houston was using Khan Academy to advance equity in uncertain times. We’ve built deep roots here, and provide free, TEKS-aligned lessons, teacher tools, and professional development that support teachers from Dallas to El Paso.

Open Doors Project

We’ve partnered with ExxonMobil Foundation on the Open Doors Project, a statewide STEM education effort that brings high-quality math and science content, as well as teacher guidance into Texas classrooms. This initiative is designed to fuel the state’s future as a leader in science, technology, and engineering by ensuring that students across Texas have free access to the tools they need to succeed. Thanks to the generous grant from ExxonMobil Foundation, Khan Academy can offer Texas educators TEKS-aligned student courses and teacher guides that ensure they are prepared to meet the needs of every learner. Strategic, scalable support

The Khan Academy Districts partnership program was created in 2019 so Khan Academy can proactively reach students in historically under-resourced communities. Today, more than 450 District partners use Khan Academy’s platform to help students achieve grade-level success. Khan Academy Districts builds on the Khan Academy mission to provide a world class education to anyone, anywhere by offering school districts in Texas strategic implementation tools, data, and services that optimize use of the Khan Academy platform to drive equitable learning outcomes.
