Events
- EdTech Literacy expert Sarah Robertson (Former CommonLit, now Product Leader at Khan Academy) gave a small group of Administrators a deep dive into how technologists in Silicon Valley are trying to solve age-old problems in the ELA classroom. The focus of this webinar was the evolution of Khan Academy’s Writing Coach tool for students and the newly released Teacher view. Watch the recording here.
- Administrators interested in specific use cases for AI are invited to join a webinar hosted by College Board and Khan Academy on the topic of AI for SAT test prep. Recording is available..
Research
- From AI-powered tools created specifically for administrators to strategies for enhancing teacher and student engagement, these opportunities offer a chance to pilot new features and approaches, provide valuable feedback, and help shape practical solutions for today’s school districts and classrooms. Click here to join the national community of administrators willing to contribute to research on this important topic.
- We are seeking high school Algebra 1 and Geometry classrooms to participate in three, 50-minute field tests across 2025. These field tests will offer students the opportunity to have a learner-centered, AI-powered assessment experience that measures and values what they know and can do. The data gathered from this pilot will be used to shape the future of assessment at Khan Academy. We’ll work with you to ensure the sessions fit seamlessly into your schedule with minimal disruption. Interested in bringing this pilot to your district? Let us know.

What we’re reading
- TeachAI resources for schools: Several leaders at Khan Academy are on the TeachAI steering committee. TeachAI resources are developed for local, state, and national education systems worldwide who are developing guidance on the responsible use of AI, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, and building the capacity of all stakeholders to understand AI and use AI effectively. Today, we’re sharing a toolkit that may also inform the early stages of developing policies and procedures, whether mandatory or voluntary. We hope it’s helpful!
- Along with the National Education Association President, Becky Pringle, Khan Academy’s Chief Learning Officer, Dr. Kristen DiCerbo was named TIME Magazine 2024 Top 100/AI Leader in Education. We were thrilled to see Kristen and Becky on the list, but think Education deserves even more space on the list!
