Earth Day Activities for Kids

It’s almost Earth Day and the Khan Academy Kids crew is eager to explore the great outdoors. Together, let’s enjoy a new season of learning with three Earth Day activities to do with your young learners. Start with Earth Day fun on Circle Time, then read from a huge selection of nature books in our app’s Library, and finish with a scavenger hunt outside!

Read Khan Kids books about nature

Head to the Library in our app to browse dozens of books about animals and nature. We have cute character books starring Kodi and friends, nonfiction books about backyard wildlife, and National Geographic books about wetlands, wildflowers, and weather. Earth Day storytime will be so much fun!

Go on a nature walk scavenger hunt

Take what you’ve learned and venture outside to observe some discoveries. Print our “Nature Walk Scavenger Hunt” sheet and have kids check off what they see during a walk or hike. For an extra challenge, write the name of each object in the box, or turn the page over and make a list of new nature discoveries to add to the collection. This is a great way to make Earth Day an active day of learning!
