Welcome to School Year 2024-2025! In this series of three blog posts for our Khan Academy District Partners, the team will be sharing new content, features and resources developed in time for the fall. In this first post you’ll find a video overview of our new content, with some detailed spotlights below.

6th Grade ELA
Get easy-to-understand, Common Core-aligned ELA instruction, including both direct instruction and practice exercises, to ensure that your students are mastering the reading skills they need to succeed! Our new 6th grade reading and vocabulary course includes:
- 171 texts spread across 38 exercises designed to strengthen students’ reading skills;
- Both single-skill practice on short texts and mixed-skill practice on longer texts;
- 36 delightful and quick vocabulary videos;
- 15 fun and whimsical reading strategy videos to support their growth as strategic readers;
- 12 new, easy-to-understand articles designed to help them learn the skills they need to be successful readers; and
- 3 vocabulary exercises that will test their knowledge of academic vocabulary!
And, we’re excited to enable teachers to support students’ knowledge of social studies and science through three new thematic units with texts designed to deepen knowledge across content areas:Unit 1: The rules we live by…and the ones we break; Unit 2: What defines us?; Unit 3: The living seas. The new units are colorful- visually and textually, and we hope your students love them. Here are some screenshots.
Financial Literacy
We’re thrilled to offer teachers time-saving, ready-to-use materials to teach Financial Literacy! Our 16-unit course covers topics from budgeting and saving to taxes and tax forms that are packed with videos, articles, and exercises that all meet state standards. No more spending hours looking for content! These new units seamlessly integrate with state learning standards, providing valuable life skills while adhering to educational requirements: engaging resources, standards alignment, and innovative tool use. Constitution 101
In this course, students will explore the Constitution’s historical foundations, landmark Supreme Court cases, and contemporary constitutional issues pioneered by the Founders and diverse figures from across American history. This course is more than just a history lesson; it’s an exploration of the ideas and principles that have shaped our nation.
As students progress through the course, they’ll watch interviews with leading constitutional scholars, professors, and experts from diverse political philosophies, who explain how interpretations of the Constitution and its amendments have shaped the government of the present-day United States.
High School Chemistry
Our new high school chemistry course is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and provides a comprehensive approach to chemistry that will set the stage for your students’ academic success. The course includes a rich set of learning resources, including brand-new videos, articles, and practice exercises. The course’s exercises are rigorous yet engaging, making the mastery of chemistry concepts not just achievable, but enjoyable too.
We have two types of exercises in the course: Those labeled “Understand” are designed to help students build a strong foundation, making sure they’ve mastered key terms and concepts. Those labeled “Apply” give students a chance to use that foundational knowledge in new contexts and situations.
Digital SAT Prep
As you likely already know given you’re a Khan Academy District Partner educator, Khan Academy is College Board’s only official SAT partner, providing authentic practice questions, hints, tips, strategies, videos, and explanations from experienced tutors and test prep experts. Khanmigo for Educators
How can you use Khan Academy’s technology resources to expand your understanding of technology and help others use technology safely and ethically? First up, take our brand new Khanmigo course!
Embark on a comprehensive journey to master the use of artificial intelligence in educational settings with Khanmigo. This course covers the essentials of AI, ethical considerations, and practical applications, alongside in-depth tutorials on utilizing Khanmigo’s specialized tools for lesson planning, content creation, and classroom differentiation. If you missed a live PL session from Khan Academy or want to get support on your own time, this course is for you.
