As districts begin looking ahead to the 2026–27 school year, Khan Academy is investing deeply in new and expanded content designed to support stronger instruction, better alignment, and more coherent learning experiences across math, ELA, science, and social studies.

Here’s a preview of what’s coming.

Stronger Core Coverage Across Grades and Subjects

Over the next year, Khan Academy will release new and significantly revised courses across core subject areas. Districts can expect expanded middle school and high school ELA, including refreshed grade-level ELA courses and a new, vertically aligned grammar progression from grades 5–10. In social studies, U.S. History and U.S. Government & Civics are being revised and expanded to better support standards-aligned instruction and classroom use.

Major Math Expansion, from Middle School to AP

Math remains a major focus. By summer 2026, districts will see updated Illustrative Mathematics (IM) courses for grades 6–8 and Algebra 1, along with new offerings including Math 1, AP Precalculus, TEKS Statistics, and TEKS Financial Math. An expanded SAT math offering and revised AP Calculus AB are also on the roadmap—giving districts more flexibility to support both grade-level learning and college readiness.

Hands-On, Applied Science Learning

Science content is expanding in both depth and interactivity. New middle school biology and hands-on science activities—developed in partnership with Amgen—will be joined by simulation-based learning experiences and Khanmigo-supported activities. High school additions include AP Physics C: Mechanics and new TEKS-aligned science courses, supporting districts focused on real-world application and rigorous STEM pathways.

Designed for District Planning and Implementation

All content releases are sequenced throughout 2026 to support back-to-school readiness, curriculum planning, and professional learning. Whether districts are refining core instruction, expanding advanced coursework, or strengthening SAT prep strategies, Khan Academy’s 2026–27 content roadmap is built to integrate smoothly into district-wide initiatives.

We’ll be sharing more detailed previews and implementation guidance as release dates approach. For now, this glimpse into what’s ahead underscores a simple commitment: helping districts deliver high-quality, standards-aligned learning at scale—without adding complexity.
